The unified ledger

Every source of money data in Omnyra feeds one ledger. Your bank, your accounting software, your field service system, card processing, uploaded statements and anything entered by hand all land in the same place, and every entry keeps a record of which source it came from.

This is what makes the numbers agree. It is also why they sometimes disagree out loud instead of quietly.

The problem it solves

A single customer payment can legitimately appear three times: as a payment in your books, as the deposit that bundled it with two others, and as the line on your bank statement. Three records, one event, and one real dollar amount.

Add a field service system that also recorded the job, and a card processor that recorded the charge, and the same money can be counted five times by five tools that each believe they are right.

What Omnyra does about it

Entries that describe the same event are grouped, and one is treated as authoritative for the total. The bank wins, because the bank is what actually happened. Your books come next, then everything else.

The other records are not thrown away. They stay attached, which is how a figure can be traced back to every system that reported it.

Cash and accrual, from the same ledger

Every entry is marked for whether it affects cash, accrual, or both.

  • A bank line, a payment, a deposit or a transfer is cash.
  • An invoice or a bill is accrual — the money is earned or owed, but has not moved.
  • A sales receipt, or a card purchase, is both at once.

That is why Omnyra can show you a cash view and an accrual view that both add up, rather than one number that is quietly a mix of the two. It is also the honest explanation for why profit and cash disagree: they are measuring different things about the same ledger.

Reports come from the ledger, not from your accounting software

Your profit and loss is built from the ledger, for every combination of connected sources.

Your accounting software's own report is used as a second opinion rather than the answer. When the two differ, that difference is surfaced to you. The alternative — showing you exactly what the other system says — would mean repeating its mistakes back to you with more confidence.

Where disagreements go

Genuine mismatches are named rather than averaged away. Omnyra will tell you which specific deposits are unclassified, which spending has not been sorted into a real expense, and which uploaded bills have no matching payment — with the dollar amount attached, and where to fix each one.

Anything that cannot be categorised from the source data is reported as uncategorised. It is never quietly filed somewhere plausible to make a report look complete.
