QuickBooks Online, usually shortened to QBO, is accounting software. If you use it, connecting it feeds your books into Omnyra's unified ledger alongside your bank.
What connecting it adds
Omnyra works without it — the bank connection alone supports cash figures. But your bank can only ever tell you what moved. Your books know what was earned and what is owed, and that is a different set of questions.
Connecting QuickBooks adds:
- Accrual. Invoices and bills exist only in your books. Without them there is no accrual profit and loss, no revenue recognised before it is paid, and no picture of money owed either way.
- Your real chart of accounts. With QuickBooks connected, spending is categorised using your own account names. Without it, categories are inferred from transaction descriptions — workable, but a guess.
- Customers and vendors, so money can be attributed to who it came from and went to.
- Line-level detail, which is what makes gross margin correct rather than approximate.
It does not become the answer
Both sources feed one ledger, and where they describe the same event, it is counted once. Your bank is treated as the authority on cash, because the bank is what actually happened.
Reports are built from that ledger, not from QuickBooks. QuickBooks' own report is used as a second opinion, so where the two disagree the difference is shown to you rather than repeated back with more confidence.

What it reads, and what it cannot do
Customers, vendors, invoices, bills, payments, and your chart of accounts.
Access is read-only by default. Omnyra reads your books to report on them; it does not rewrite them behind you. Nothing you see in Omnyra changes what your accountant opens in QuickBooks.
Signing in
You connect by signing in to Intuit directly, in Intuit's own window, and granting access. Omnyra never sees or stores your QuickBooks username or password — what it holds is a revocable access token, not your credentials.
You can revoke that access at any time, either from Omnyra or from within your Intuit account. Revoking stops any further reading immediately.
