CallRail

CallRail tracks the calls coming into your business: how many, where they came from, how long they lasted, and — the number that matters most — which ones nobody answered.

Steps

  1. Open Integrations and choose CallRail.
  2. Paste your CallRail API key.
  3. Choose the account to pull calls from.

An application programming interface (API) key is a long secret string that stands in for a password when one program talks to another. You generate it inside CallRail rather than here. It is stored encrypted and is never shown back to you in full.

What it brings in

Every call, with when it came in, whether it was answered, how long it lasted, and which number or source it came through.

That last field is what makes call tracking worth paying for. A separate tracked number on each advertisement turns "the phone has been quiet" into "the phone has been quiet since we changed the ad", which is a different conversation.

What Omnyra does with it

Calls are watched for the patterns that cost money quietly:

Missed-call rate. Above 15% is flagged, above 25% is flagged harder. This is usually the single most expensive number in a service business, because a missed call is a customer who has already decided to buy and simply cannot reach you. They do not call back — they call the next result.

Volume drops. More than 30% down week over week, or more than 50%, each raise their own alert. A drop that size is almost never seasonal noise; something changed — a listing, an ad, a phone routing setting.

Silence. No inbound calls at all in 48 hours, which more often means a broken phone path than a quiet week.

Improvement. Volume up more than 25%, or answer rate climbing, are surfaced too. Knowing what worked is worth as much as knowing what broke.

Access and data

The connection uses an API key you generate inside CallRail, not your CallRail password. It is stored encrypted and never shown back to you in full. Revoking the key in CallRail cuts access immediately.

Omnyra reads call records — time, duration, source, and whether the call was answered. Recordings are not pulled in, and nothing is written back to CallRail, so nothing Omnyra does can change your call data or your routing.

Reading it honestly

Call volume is a marketing number. Answer rate is an operations number. They fail for different reasons and are fixed by different people, which is why Omnyra reports them separately rather than as one "calls" figure.

A business with excellent volume and a 30% missed rate does not have a marketing problem, and spending more on advertising will make it worse.
