The weekly recap email

A weekly email summarising what the advertising did, what arrived from it, and what customers said publicly.

What it covers

This week — advertising activity: clicks, impressions, average cost per click, and conversions. See pay-per-click advertising.

Trafficvisits and page views, split by what arrived from advertising and what arrived from unpaid search.

Attribution — enquiries matched to advertising, the revenue behind them, and how long those jobs took to invoice. See marketing attribution.

Reviews — what has been left on the business profile. See customer reviews.

Upcoming — campaign work already scheduled.

Why a section is sometimes absent

Sections appear only when there is data behind them. Attribution needs at least one matched customer in the period; upcoming needs something actually scheduled.

An absent section is not an error. It means the week did not produce enough to say anything that would hold up — the same principle as how confident a number is.

Why the figures are plain

The email is generated from live figures and fixed rules rather than written. Every number traces to a source, and claims are held to sample-size thresholds before they appear at all.

That is deliberate: a weekly email that overstates a good week is worse than one that says less, because the next decision gets made on it.

Reading it

The advertising figures describe activity. Whether the advertising paid is a margin question the email does not answer — see return on ad spend, where revenue is the wrong denominator.

Week-to-week movement in a small business is mostly noise. The trend across several weeks is the part worth acting on.

Where the same figures live in the platform

Marketing performance, with the periods and detail the email leaves out.
