The bank connection has three settings, and each one changes something you will notice.
Automatic reconciliation
Matches bank activity to your books as it arrives, rather than leaving every line for you.
Worth having on. It does not remove the review step — anything it cannot match confidently is still held for you — but it clears the obvious majority, which is what makes the remainder small enough to actually work through. See reconciliation.
Bank alerts
Notifies you on account activity worth knowing about rather than on everything.
The value is timing. A balance problem found on the day it appears is a conversation with a customer about an invoice; found three weeks later it is a conversation with your bank.
Use the bank balance for cash figures
Replaces the cash figures drawn from your accounting software with the balance the bank reports.
This one is a real decision rather than a preference, and it is worth understanding both sides.
On — cash figures are what the bank says. More current, and it is the money that exists. This is the right setting for anyone using the platform to decide whether they can commit to something this week.
Off — cash figures come from your books, which include entries that have not reached the bank yet.

Access and data
None of these settings change what Omnyra can reach. The bank connection is read-only throughout: it reads balances and transactions and cannot move money, initiate a payment, or alter anything at your bank.
Turning automatic reconciliation on lets Omnyra match records it has already read to records already in your books. It writes nothing to your bank.
The connection is authorised through your bank's own sign-in and can be revoked from the bank connection or from your bank at any time, which stops the feed immediately without affecting anything already imported.
Syncing on demand
The connection can be re-synced and reconciliation re-run manually, which is what to do after a period of catching up rather than waiting for the next scheduled pass.
